Conditions are unhealthy to hazardous. All people should limit time outdoors and sensitive groups should take extra precautions. The North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District is continuing the air quality alert for Burnt Ranch, Salyer, Hawkins bar and expanded the alert to include Junction City. Where smoke conditions are less severe, an air quality advisory has been issued for for Hyampom, Weitchpec, Weaverville, Lewiston and Willow Creak and some adjacent areas. In the alert area, everyone should avoid outdoor activity. In the advisory area, those groups who area sensitive to poor air quality should avoid outdoor activity and heavy exertion. Those groups include those with asthma or other respiratory disease, heart disease, young children and elderly adults. In these areas, it is recommended that you keep windows closed, and do not run any house fans that bring outside air indoors. Consider leaving the area until smoke conditions improve if you have repeated coughing, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, wheezing, chest tightness or pain, palpitations, nausea, unusual fatigue, or lightheadedness.
