Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
401 AM CDT Wed Aug 17 2022

A mainly clear sky was over Iowa early this morning. While winds were
light and temperatures were near or at the dewpoint temperature,
widespread fog had not developed with only a few reports of fog over
western Iowa. Temperatures at 4am were around 60 degrees.

Besides a few fog patches this morning, sunshine will mix with fair
weather clouds today. Temperatures will be on a warming trend through
Thursday with highs returning to seasonal levels in the upper 70s or
low 80s. Clouds will increase more through the day Thursday as low
pressure drops southward from Canada. This will bring chances for
showers and thunderstorms at times back to the state Thursday night
through Saturday and perhaps lingering into Sunday. Highs this weekend
will be in the 70s to near 80 degrees.
