Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
1103 PM EDT Wed Aug 10 2022

A couple of showers and thunderstorms will move across far
southern PA early tonight in the vicinity of a stationary front
over northern Maryland.

Partial clearing is expected late tonight, perhaps enough to
catch some glimpses of the start of this year's Perseid meteor
shower. Lows tonight will dip into the low 50s over the Northwest
Mountains, upper 50s to low 60s in the Central Ridge and Valley
Region of the state, and near 70 degrees in the larger metro areas
in the Lower Susquehanna Valley and adjacent southeastern
Pennsylvania.

A second, stronger cold front, now over the Upper Great Lakes,
will push southeast through the state late Thursday morning and
Thursday afternoon, likely accompanied by a narrow line of showers
that will last only about 10 minutes in any location, but could be
briefly heavy.

Behind this second front, below normal humidity and comfortably
cooler air will move into the region for Friday through Sunday
with mostly sunny days and mainly clear chilly nights.
